Sunrise from Elon Moreh, Israel.  Israel, 2014

What a blessing it was to witness the sun rise from Elon Moreh, Israel last year. As the sun made it’s way over the mountains you could see “Mevo Hashemesh” Road (“The Entrance of the Sun” Road). This path leads from Trans-Jordan to the Land of Israel, from East to West, following the sun’s course. The route runs in front of the Tirzah brook making its way gently coming towards Shechem–where it meets up with “Mevo Hashemesh” and continues to Beit El (House of God) and to Jerusalem.

“Mevo Hashemesh is the path traversed by the Patriarchs, fathers of the faith, and the Children of Israel on their way to the Land of Israel.

“When Adonai your God brings you into the land you are entering in order to take possession of it, you are to put the blessing on Mount G’rizim and the curse on Mount ‘Eival.  Are they not beyond the Yarden, behind the way of “The Entrance of the Sun”, in the land of the Kena‘ani living in the ‘Aravah, across from Gilgal, near the pistachio trees of Moreh.   For you are to cross the Yarden to enter and take possession of the land Adonai your God is giving you; you are to own it and live in it.   And you are to take care to follow all the laws and rulings I am setting before you today.”  -Deuteronomy 11:29-32

“Mevo Hashemesh”–“The Entrance of the Sun”
Israel, 10/24/2014

This weeks Torah Portion is from the book of Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17.  The title of this weeks’ portion is Re’eh! Re’eh is Hebrew for Behold, See, or Perceive!  Moses has his final mission! To take over 40 years of wisdom and visions that he has received from The Throne, from the mouth of the Holy One Himself and condense them down so God’s chosen people can understand them…. You know that narrow road we are on? If you haven’t noticed, there are many obstacle courses on that road… There are objects placed in our path that will try to seduce us… Things that look fun, and are “in”…Some try to say, “Dark is the new Light”…… You might say these words Moses wrote serve as a “training manual” for those who are “Royal Brides” betrothed to the Bridegroom, Yeshua!  Showing us exactly how The Father wants us to serve Him and how to handle the challenges we will face while we are here on earth. Could it be to follow The Light?

See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse —  the blessing, if you listen to the mitzvot of Adonai your God that I am giving you today;  and the curse, if you don’t listen to the mitzvot of Adonai your God, but turn aside from the way I am ordering you today and follow other gods that you have not known.”  -Deuteronomy 11:26-28

Let’s dig just a little deeper, beloved! These are the opening lines to this weeks portion. Notice the first word? In the Hebrew text, this is the word Re’eh.  The first this word is used in scripture points to its true meaning, check this out:

God saw (re’eh) that the light was good, and God divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:4

Behold! See! In light, God saw the amazing potential to release good things everywhere! In every dark and hidden place! He saw light’s potential to give life, to showcase beauty, to reveal His Creativity! In the Light, God saw beyond its present day status and saw all the good it could release!

Friends, on that narrow road, if you have “eyes that see only on the ground”, how are you going to make it to the banquet? There are so many obstacle courses … Taunting us, seducing us, calling our name, saying “Come, follow us!” To make it through successfully, you will need to see the bigger picture. Man-made doctrines and creeds aren’t going to help! You are going to need eyes so that you can Behold!

“For this reason, ever since I heard about your trust in the Lord Yeshua and your love for all God’s people,  I have not stopped giving thanks for you. In my prayers I keep asking the God of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you will have full knowledge of him I pray that he will give light to the eyes of your hearts, so that you will understand the hope to which he has called you, what rich glories there are in the inheritance he has promised his people” -Ephesians 1: 15-18

In Paul’s prayer, look how he prays for Yeshua’s bride! Beloved, this is you, if you so choose to see, to behold, the blessings of a Shema lifestyle! Get to know The Bridegroom and have a relationship that is lit up with Truth!  Behold Light in all His Creation!

Visiting Israel changed my life in many ways. Most important, as Paul prayed in the verse above, It is the Inheritance! The Inheritance The Father has promised for His People! Behold its potential! Pray for its Shalom!

“Don’t let anyone deny you the prize”…. Colossians 2:18

Happy Day!
