For those who may believe in replacement theology, also known as supersessionalism, an idea that the church has replaced Israel in G-d’s plan, please consider the dynamic picture of Messiah in Moses.

And Israel saw the great work which the L~RD did upon the Egyptians, and the people feared the L~RD; and they believed in the L~RD, and in His servant Moses. ~Exodus 14:31

Standing on the shores of the Red Sea, the Children of Israel watched as the L~RD drowned Pharaoh and his entire army. The Holy One was saving them from returning to a life of slavery and bondage in Egypt. Is there more to this verse at the end of Exodus 14? Oh yes, indeed! This “great work” for example is none other than the powerful hand of the Holy One!  After such a display of might, we see that this Nation “feared” the Holy One. The Children of Israel achieved a higher attainment, for this “fear” was more than just simple fear of punishment.  The people now “revered” the Holy One, which implies they respected and recognized the Mighty G~d who just saved them.  And if they hadn’t believed, they did now. Their trust, support, and faith was now in the Holy One and in His Servant, Moses.

Although this nation had believed in the Holy One from the start of Moses’ mission (Exodus 4:31), their belief was now strengthened. The Ten Plagues and the splitting of the sea would have seemed to be enough to prove His Greatness. This time the same miracle (splitting the sea) saved the righteous and punished the wicked. This was a new dimension to the Holy One’s greatness! They “experienced” G~d!

But let’s not forget the Holy One’s Servant, Moses.  Ebed, עבד, is the Hebrew word for servant and also means slave or bondage. The verb root abad, עבד, means to work, or serve.  As we see here in the book of Acts, Yeshua is also called the Holy One’s Servant.

You are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which G~d made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.  To you first, G~d, having raised up His Servant Yeshua, sent Him to bless you, in turning every one of you away from his iniquities. Acts 3:25-26

After healing the lame beggar, in the name of Yeshua, Peter had much to say about the healing power of the G~d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! He was sure to make known that the Prophets had also proclaimed the same message. The entire Word points to the covenant the Holy One has made with His People, Israel. To believe in Yeshua, you must believe in the One Who sent Him. Over thirty times you can find Yeshua repeating the words about believing in “the One Who sent Me“.

If you have come to truly know The Messiah, than you know The Father. The Torah, the words of Moses, the first five books of the bible, it’s all about Him, Yeshua. Absolutely nothing has been “replaced”, the covenant the Holy One made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is still a very binding one. We become sons and daughters of the covenant when we sh’ma (be obedient, listen) to the Words given by the Father, the Torah.

I invite you today, explore the words spoken by the Holy One, written by His servant Moses, spoken by the prophets, and taught be the Messiah Yeshua and his disciples. Faith starts with obedience. The Torah is not about law and legalism, nor is it only for the Jews.  Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy are full of Grace, Love, and, Freedom for they are all about Yeshua!

For if you were believing Moses, you would believe Me—because he wrote about Me.” -John 5:46

Shalom, Happy Day,
